The vision of Capital City Church is to plant spiritual communities in different parts of our city. These communities are a celebration of families who live in those neighboring areas and share a common life and journey.

We know that the various areas of our city have differing needs and characteristics that distinguish them. We also recognize the growing need people have for a shared experience of life, friendship and community. And so we are endeavoring to be a church in many locations connected through a common eldership, message, and mission. Our heart is to bring the gospel to each part of the city, and to build strong, mature followers of Christ journeying together in a common experience of faith.

Our mission is to be a highly relational, deeply interdependent, kingdom-focused church. This model of church in a city enables the churches to remain small enough for each member to be known intimately and to involve every person in ministry while maintaining a kingdom-sized vision for renewing the city. And so our mission is both local and citywide.

City Hubs

We call our small groups, “City Hubs”. God has blessed us to be a body of believers spread across the greater Sacramento valley from further north than Roseville and further south than Elk Grove. This separation gives us a unique opportunity to develop communities throughout this large region and offers great potential to be lights in each of our communities. We also desire that there be a central location for each region that offers true, genuine community and friendship that is forged through a shared, common experience of faith and commitment. This has been, especially throughout the church’s history, necessary during times of great pressure and marginalization. Simply put; we believe that we need each other, and we believe our neighbors need to meet Christ.

Our City Hubs are smaller weekly gatherings in homes usually consisting of 3-5 families, both parents and their children, sharing a meal and their lives in Christ with one another. These groups are not just driven by theology but by practicing the Christian life together. To join a City Hub is to enter into the journey of Christian discipleship.
